1. Calala Island (Nicaragua)
Talk about exclusive! Calala Island in Nicaragua is the epitome of a luxury escape on a private, pristine, gorgeous beach island.
To reach the island, you need to fly to Managua Airport. From there, take another flight to Bluefields using La Costena Airlines. Once in Managua, a speedboat will be waiting to take you to the island. When you book with the resort, they will take care of all the internal travel arrangements and meet you as you land in Managua. This is included in the price of your points reservation, a huge improvement compared to exotic resorts like the Conrad Maldives.
This 9.5-acre island only has 4 bungalow suites. This means it can only accommodate 8-10 guests at a time. With guests kept to a minimum, once you visit, you are waited on, hand and foot, by the 25 staff on the property.
All four bungalow suites are designed by architect, Matthew Falkiner. They’re built using sustainable hardwood and situated in front of the gorgeous white sands. All room names come from local communities and each one has a king-sized bed, white linens, handcrafted furniture, large windows, a small deck, a hammock for two, sofas, a safe, slippers, a robe, and showers.
Other amenities in the resort include 2 restaurants, an infinity pool, a stunning beach, private seaside pavilions, spa service, 24-hour front desk, 24-hour room service, concierge, 24-hour security, massage service, shuttle to various local attractions, and airport.
Even better, everything on the island is environmentally friendly. The resort is solar-powered and has recycling, composting, and wastewater programs in place.
As you can see, this is as exclusive and extravagant as it gets! All rates are all-inclusive so you just have to pay and worry about nothing. You can also use 35,000 SLH World of Hyatt points per night to book a free night in this Category 8 hotel. When you consider that paid rates start at $2,000 per night and go all the way up to $3,800 per night.
