A favorite among local Kauai vacationers, the Grand Hyatt Kauai is the ideal hotel for families, honeymooners, friends, business travelers, and even those wanting a destination wedding.

Location
Situated on Kauai’s southern shore, Poipu, the Grand Hyatt Kauai is easily accessible. Poipu is known to be a tourist hotspot so you won’t be arriving in a barren paradise. Instead, you’ll have a cozy retreat yet still be within 5 to 10 minutes from other hotels, shops, and restaurants, in case you want to explore.
To reach the hotel, you need to fly into the Kailua Lihue Airport (LIH) and either drive or take a paid shuttle service for 30-45 minutes. The hotel doesn’t offer any complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport.
Right in front of the hotel is a gorgeous beach. While it’s not great for swimming because of the rough waters, it’s still picturesque. Meanwhile, Poipu Beach is located just five minutes away. It’s a great spot for swimming and snorkeling with lovely calm waters.

Inside this massive resort are over 600 rooms ranging from standard rooms to lavish suites. Standard rooms measure 500 square feet, providing enough room for a large king bed. This bed is covered in elegant white sheets and framed by a stunning carved headboard.

To reach the hotel, you would need to fly into Kahului Airport (OGG) then take a 30-minute drive. Most guests opt for renting a car instead of using public transportation. A car is also necessary if you want to explore the island later on.
The hotel is situated right by the ocean so guests have several miles of walkable coast right upfront. Walking along it will lead you to pass by other hotels like the Marriott Wailea Beach Resort, the Fairmont, and the Four Seasons.
Room
Andaz hotels are known for their unique, stylish decor and it’s no different when inside their guest rooms. Each room features a minimalist, modern design with a neutral color palette composed of light grays, creams, beiges, and lots of wood.
Tiled floors are paired with a king bed that’s flanked by stunning bedside tables and hanging lamps. There’s a comfy sofa, wood furniture, a desk, and a beautiful terrace with some seating.
Separating the bathroom from the main bedroom are white windows and door shutters. These can be closed for privacy but you can also leave them open to allow light or create an open-air design to the space.

If you’re angling for light snacks, the Bumbye Beach Bar is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aside from snacks, you can grab delicious cocktails here too! For an all-day bar with live music, Lehua Lounge is the way to go.
During Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, you can attend The Feast at Mokapu Luau. Although slightly pricey at $240 per person, it’s a worthy event to join especially if you want to experience an authentic Hawaiian luau.
