Known for offering extravagance with a hint of playfulness, St. Regis Punta Mita Resort is one of those properties that will make you forget about life back home.

Location

This fantastic resort is inside a gated community in Punta Mita, a small headland found right off Mexico’s Pacific Coast. It’s right by the Bay of Banderas, an area known for its amazing sunsets and gorgeous big waves.

To reach the property, the simplest way is to fly into Puerto Vallarta at the Gustavo Diaz Ordaz International Airport (PVR) then take a shuttle or rent a car to reach the St. Regis Punta Mita Resort. It takes approximately a 45 to 55-minute drive from the airport. The road is scenic and coastal so you’ll have plenty of sights to check out.

Room

The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort has 120 rooms, spread out over its 22-acre property. Each room is housed in a delightful traditional-style casita with a beautiful yellow shade, so you get that intimate island vibe. These casitas usually contain four rooms.

Standard rooms start with the Deluxe Guest Rooms. But don’t be fooled by the entry-level designation, these spaces are large and comfortable with attractive design touches you can expect from a luxury resort.

These rooms offer 654-square feet of space with exposed wood beams decorating the ceiling, tiled floors, and a neutral color palette. All of which inject a chill Mexican vibe. A king bed is draped in luxury white linens matched by white chairs and a sofa along with a desk. In-room amenities include a walk-in closet, iPod docks, flatscreen TV, DVD player, and a minibar.

The sliding doors lead out to a wooden balcony with charming wood chairs and tables. It’s the perfect spot for afternoon coffee or maybe in-room breakfast. For base-level rooms, the balconies look out to the lush grounds while some rooms offer partial ocean views.

Head to the bathroom and you’ll be greeted with an equally gigantic space. The bathrooms feature long vanities with twin sinks and a wall-to-wall mirror. A soaking tub sits prominently inside the room. However, the highlight is the indoor and outdoor shower area. Laboratoire Remède toiletries are provided to guests, alongside plush robes and slippers.

There’s also a 24-hour St. Regis butler service available, so you can always reach out to your butler from your room, in case you need anything.

Amenities

True to a five-star retreat, St. Regis Punta Mita Resort comes with a host of facilities for guests. One of its most stunning features is its swimming pools. There are three available and each one is lined with chairs and hammocks.

Designated as the family pool, Las Marietas is right next to the restaurant of the same name. This heated family pool offers swimming pool toys for kids to use. For adults who want a bit of privacy, the Arecas Adult Pool is ideal. It’s the quietest of the three and offers fantastic ocean views. Private cabanas can be rented here too.

Finally, there’s the Sea Breeze Pool. This is closest to the beach and near the Sea Breeze Restaurant. A lot of families with kids also hang out here because of its proximity to the beach.

Speaking of the beach, it’s great for non-motorized sports and swimming. Both the swimming pool and beach are manned by “pool butlers” so there’s never any need to move about. What’s more, there are complimentary sunscreen and bottled water provided too. With a beautiful beach and great service, it’s no surprise the St. Regis Punta Mita Resort is considered among the best beach hotels you can book with points

Guests can snorkel, surf, kayak, play volleyball, or go paddleboarding. Of course, kicking back and just soaking in the view from the sands is also an option. If you want to destress, visit the Remede Spa. It contains a fitness center and a variety of massage treatments. They even have flotation tanks available.

If you’re an avid golfer, located inside the Punta Mita complex are two Jack Nicklaus-designed golf courses. There’s also a tennis court and a kid’s club called the La Tortuga Children’s Club.

Aside from the resort facilities, you can participate in various activities in the area including day trips, cooking classes, and a turtle release program.
